RCAL Admin Class Frequently Asked Questions


What are the requirements to submit an application for the OKSLA Administrator course?

  • Applicants must be 21 years of age                                                                     

  • Applicants must be able to pass the National Background check

  • Applicants MUST have 1 of the following:

    at least 1 consecutive year of health care experience; or

    at least 30 hours college semester hours in a healthcare related field of study; or

    a Bachelor's degree in any field of study


Must full payment be made at registration for class?

  • Yes, please contact the office if you need to split the payment.

Will a refund be issued if I cannot attend the class?

  • Fees are non refundable; they will be credited to future class.

When do I apply to the OSDH for my Administrator license? Before the Administrator class or after?

  • Either is acceptable. OSDH suggests you start the application when you start the class.  Once you start the application, you will see all documents that need to be uploaded.  You can find the LTCA Programs site Here

Do I need a copy of my educational transcript?

  • You will need an official copy of your diploma or transcript to complete the licensing application process. It can be submitted to OSDH at longtermcareadminlicensing@health.ok.gov. It does not need to be sent to OKSLA.

  • Many schools or universities use a service called Parchment where you can purchase your transcript and they will send it to you electronically. The cost is approximately $10.00. www.parchment.com

Do I submit all four domain completions from Senior Living U, or just the final exam? 

  • The four domain tests are completed through Classmarkers and are required to complete the course. The SLU final exam is for you to study for the NAB. 

How do I schedule to take the State Standards test?  

Is there a limit to how many times I can take the State Standards test? 

  • No, there is no limit to how many times you can take the State Standards Test however, you must pass the State Standards Test before applying to take the NAB test.

  • Do I have to pay to retake the State Standards Test or the NAB?

  • Yes, you will be charged for each time you take the State Standards and/or the NAB Tests.

How soon do I get my license after passing the NAB?

  • Once all requirements have been met.

When can I take the NAB?

  • You can register to take the NAB after you have passed the State Standards Test and completed all of the OKSLA RCAL Administrator Course requirements.

How much is an OKSLA Individual membership?

  • $100 annually and is applicable to individuals who are not currently employed by a Long Term Care Facility.
